Technology Planning - .Develop, implement and manage the technology planning framework within the organisation based on standard planning/architecture models to support the ongoing effective delivery of ATC/cns/ATM services; Ensure proper planning for the expansion of technology capacity, as well as the change control process; Define and implement relevant activities associated with technology planning and the technology planning framework; Monitor technology-related sourcing strategies, and business- and technology-related capabilities and resources to ensure that the current and future needs and objectives of the enterprise will be met; Report key technology planning performance metrics to the business; Develop the technology roadmaps; Manage the departmental strategic technology planning process; Provide technology planning thought leadership to the organization; Drive adoption and continuous improvement of planning practices and processes within TI and the wider organization; Provide planning inputs for the Permission process, development of the budget, acquisition of required resources, and procurement; Develop service plans and continually review performance, striving to improve quality and service delivery efficiencies; Conduct Contingency Planning for the area of responsibility as required; Lead the planning and delivery of high quality safe and effective CNS Systems and Infrastructure, and SecDevOps; Track roadmaps and technology plans; Conduct the technology day; Plan workshops and training, and conduct TI brown bag sessions as required; Promote change and innovation; Conduct effective change management where required; Provide required administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the planning function; Undertake any and all other reasonable and related tasks associated with this role; Lead the development, integration and alignment of policy and planning related to the Directorate’s activities; Contribute to the development and execution of ICT strategic and tactical planning that align to organisational plans.
Technology Enablement - Understand the enterprise’s risk appetite and potential for technology innovation, and focus efforts on the most opportune technology and infrastructure innovations; Create an innovation plan that includes risk appetite, a proposed budget for innovation initiatives and innovation objectives; Encourage innovation ideas from customers, suppliers and business partners; Capture lessons learned and opportunities for improvement; Assess new technology innovations implemented as part of TI strategy and enterprise architecture development; Ensure that innovation initiatives align with enterprise and technology strategy; Maintain an awareness of the technology strategy and roadmaps, and TI plans; Ensure that there are operational level agreements with TI and adherence thereto; Define and communicate a complaints and escalation procedure to resolve any issues; Plan specific interactions and schedules based on mutually agreed objectives and common language (review meetings, review of new strategies or plans, etc.); Assist in the development of current and future technology strategies, examine the potential options for providing technology-related resources (technology, financial and human resources), and participate in the development of capabilities to meet current and future needs (including sourcing options); Monitor technology-related sourcing strategies, and business- and technology-related capabilities and resources to ensure that current and future needs and objectives of the enterprise will be met; Establish a consultation and engagement approach and plan for managing internal and external stakeholders; Provide technology planning thought leadership to the organization.
Governance, Compliance, Risk Management, and Reporting - Develop and implement policies, processes, and procedures to support effective governance of technology planning; Identify key risks and develop and implement approved mitigation plans and actions to support effect risk management; Ensure timely compilation and submission of all required reports (internal and external); Provide the required supporting documents to enable effective auditing processes, and facilitate internal and external auditing processes as required.
Stakeholder Relations Management - Develop and manage sound relationships with key technology stakeholders, including service providers to support ongoing alignment and collaboration; Monitor the performance of service providers against SLAs as required.
Financial Management - Provide technology planning-related inputs to the Planning & Governance budget development process; Monitor and manage expenditure in line with business needs and priorities, and within set financial parameters; Compile and provide required reports on utilisation of the budget, including any possible deviations; Identify and prevent possible irregular, fruitless, and wasteful expenditure.
Minimum requirements
Minimum Formal Qualifications:
• B.Sc. or B-degree in Engineering/ Electrical/ Electronics or B-Degree in Computer Science/ Computer Studies/ Information Technology or related field
• ECSA Professional Registration as an Engineer will be an advantage
• ISACA Professional Registration will be an advantage
Minimum Years of Experience:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in technology and information planning, technology-related resources (technology, financial and human resources),
• Experience in the development of technology strategy, technology plans, roadmaps, technology-related sourcing strategies
• Experience working in a technical operational service delivery environment
