Introduction
To participate and conduct the CNS Life Cycle Planning, technical research and development efforts of ATNS with a focus on the conceptualization, planning and design of the ATNS communication, navigation and surveillance (CNS) systems in support of the ATNS Strategy.
Job description
- To develop an understanding of the ATM community and the CNS and ATM technology needs.
- Liaise closely with the Engineering Projects and Technical Service Department with regards to the logistical support concept.
- Comply with the ATNS CNS Life Cycle Management strategy and ensure alignment to the ATNS strategy and business plan.
- Comply with the ATNS CNS System Performance Targets and ensure alignment to the ATNS strategy and business plan.
- Comply with the Integrated Logistic Support strategy and ensure alignment to the ATNS strategy and business plan for all CNS infrastructure.
- Prepare functional technical specifications for CNS systems and equipment in your area of expertise for the procurement department, under the guidance of a Professional Engineer.
- Compile tender documents, acquisition and implementation documentation, under the guidance of a Professional Engineer.
- Participate in site acceptance and commissioning tests of new CNS systems and equipment to ensure requirements as specified are met environment, under the guidance of a Professional Engineer.
- Evaluate change requests that will have a material impact on the performance or operation of deployed systems, as a member of the configuration management team environment, under the guidance of a Professional Engineer.
- Develop and maintain planning and prediction models.
- Undertake research and development projects that will advance the corporate objectives of ATNS environment, under the guidance of a Professional Engineer.
- Prepare relevant plans, processes, procedures, business cases and safety cases for introducing new technologies into the operational environment.
- Prepare and submit reports to meetings as required, under the guidance of a Professional Engineer.
- Make submissions for approval to appropriate authorizing authority, under the guidance of a Professional Engineer.
- Prepare ad hoc reports as required by clients and management, under the guidance of a Professional Engineer.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the ATNS transformational and change initiatives (introduction of new technology, processes and support methodologies, other) through the application of sound input approaches, and by playing the role as change agent
Minimum requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering and eligible for registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa as a Professional Engineer.
Minimum Experience /Knowledge
- At least 3 years engineering experience in a high technology electronic environment with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of planning, specifying, acquiring implementing, supporting and managing of CNS and ATM System.
