Job description
Data Analytics and Visualisation: Assist in gathering and documenting business requirements from stakeholders. Support data analysis activities including data extraction, transformation, and validation. Develop and maintain dashboards and reports (e.g., Power BI) to support business operations. Write and optimise SQL queries to retrieve and analyse data. Support the creation of data models and reporting layers for analytics use. Assist in interpreting data and translating it into actionable insights for business users. Contribute to the development of standardised reporting templates and data definitions. Perform data quality checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Support the testing and validation of dashboards, reports, and data pipelines. Document business processes, data flows, and reporting logic. Assist in automating reporting processes using tools such as Power Apps or other platforms
Governance, Compliance, Risk Management, Security and Reporting: Ensure adherence to data governance standards, policies, and procedures. Support data quality management by identifying and resolving data issues. Assist in maintaining data integrity and consistency across reporting platforms. Ensure compliance with relevant data protection and privacy regulations (e.g., POPIA). Participate in data validation, audit processes, and documentation of data standards
Stakeholder Relationship Management: Engage with business users to understand reporting and analytics requirements. Provide support and guidance to users on dashboards and reporting tools. Assist in translating business needs into technical specifications. Support user training and adoption of reporting solutions. Maintain effective communication with stakeholders to ensure alignment and delivery
Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and data workflows. Support the implementation of automation and efficiency improvements. Stay up to date with new tools, technologies, and best practices in analytics. Contribute ideas to enhance dashboards, reporting, and data usage
Minimum requirements
Formal Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in a quantitative/analytical field such as Electronics/Electrical/Computer Engineering/Data Management/ Information Systems/ Computer Science/Computer Studies/Information Technology/ Data Analytics/ Data Management/ Information Systems/ Mathematics/ Data Science or similar
· Postgraduate degree in Computer Science/Computer Studies/ Information Technology/ Statistics/ Mathematics/ Applied Mathematics/Engineering/ Data Management/ Information Systems will be an advantage
Experience
· Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Business Intelligence Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role
· Experience with Power BI (dashboard development and data modelling)
· Strong SQL skills for querying and manipulating data
· Experience with Power Apps or similar low-code platforms
· Exposure to reporting tools (e.g., SSRS, Qlik, Tableau, or similar)
