LEGAL ADVISOR FTC 12 MONTHS Applications are invited for the Legal Advisor (Grade 7) based at Bruma. The successful applicant will be reporting to the Senior Manager: Legal & Compliance.
Job description

 
Major Activities
  • Managing allocated corporate litigation (Civil and Labour);
  • Drafting /vetting and reviewing allocated commercial agreements and all legal documents;
  • Ensure that signed contract and Agreements are captured on the electronic system,\
  • Keep custody and update and maintain all contract and agreement database,
  • Editing of contract/documents/ report,
  • Conducting annual contract and agreement review,
  • Assist with research on legal articles and cases,
  • Draft and manage correspondences and submission
  • Providing legal advisory services to the various business units in the Company;
  • Providing assistance to the Company in defining requirements for contractual specifications;
  • Providing general and specific legal support, in accordance with company frameworks;
  • Ensuring accessibility of legal services by all ATNS Departments;
  • Advising all of the company's businesses of legal requirements in relevant jurisdictions, obtaining advice from and managing external legal counsel/Attorney where appropriate;
  • Implementing procedures, rules and guidelines relating to the maintenance and management of the contract register;
  • Attend to general legal enquiries
  • Advise Line Management about amendments to the Legal Policy
  • Review the ATNS Legal Policy and Directives when changes are required
  • Evaluate and improve the effectiveness of legal measures and procedures
  • Attend relevant meetings and forums
  • Provide the Senior Manager with monthly reports on Legal matters
  • Run a legal awareness programs in ATNS
  • Ensuring compliance to QMS
  • Identify personal training and development needs and requirements
  • Cultivate and maintain a work environment conducive to teamwork, innovation and service delivery
  • Attend staff meetings and discussions in support of the team environment and good communication
  • Provide input into the annual reporting and budget process
 


Minimum requirements

Minimum Qualifications

 
·      LLB (Law) Degree or other recognized equivalent South African Law Degree
 

Minimum Experience

 
·      Admission as an Attorney or Advocate of the High Court
·      Minimum 5 years post admission working experience (in-house, law firm, etc)
·      Experience in the management of litigation matters as well as labour matters will be an added advantage,
