Introduction
To supervise the provision of simulator pilot functions
Job description

  • Setting up simulators in accordance with standard practice
  • Attending pre-training briefing and de-briefing with ATS Instructors and delegates
  • Issuing flight progress strips where applicable
  • Manipulating the simulator generated tracks via the available Air Traffic Management Display Simulator and Pilot Positions
  • Training new TGOs to operate simulators
  • Complying with all OHAS and safety requirements applicable to the delivery and administration of training interventions
  • Capturing, programing and testing ICAO Flight Plan details into the simulator database to populate exercises for all training requirements within Air Traffic Services
  • Coordinating with Air Traffic Services personnel in attaining real data when capturing and programming ICAO Flight Plan details into the simulator database to populate exercises for all training requirements
  • Researching, developing, writing, programing, testing and re-engineering exercises to satisfy clients’ training requirements
  • Researching, programing, testing and re-engineering exercises and associated commodities for all disciplines
  • Developing practical courseware (exercises, driver sheets)
  • Preparing and supervising the provision of simulator pilot functions
  • Maintaining the relevance of training documentation through regular cross-referencing, reviewing and updating procedures relating to ATM and communication system functionality
  • Compiling, reviewing and managing the SSS booking system, checking and responding to requests and e-mails accurately and timeously
  • Compiling, reviewing, managing the SSS roster and coordinating with RUS
  • Developing and maintaining sound working relationships with key relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Supervising TGO employees in accordance with HC policies and processes

Minimum requirements

Minimum Education and Experience 
  • Grade 12 or equivalent with Mathematics and English. Geography will be an advantage
  • 1-year Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent qualification
  • Core Content or ATS operational experience will be an advantage
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a TGO/SSO/ATSO
