Technology Continuity – Contribute to the definition of standards, controls and governance for technology service continuity planning and execution across ATNS, and monitor and ensure that there are plans for service recovery in the event of a crisis; Conduct and document annual service continuity tests and report the risks associated with any deviations from the test plan; Ensure that service providers are delivering appropriate service continuity support able to maintain critical ATNS services, and support the development and implementation of service continuity processes across the technology environment; Support the assessment of the business criticality of systems and work collaboratively with the Business Continuity Team to ensure that service and business continuity plans and tests are aligned and inform each other; Monitor the Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plan for TI which includes ATNS Communication, Navigation and Surveillance; Improve and present the Service Continuity Test Schedule to the Business Continuity Team ; Report on any exceptions to the schedule and raise the relevant risks as necessary to inform compliance reporting processes; Review change proposals for ATNS to ensure that Service Continuity arrangements are included and tests are planned as part of the process; Review project proposals to ensure costs are built into business cases for future Service Continuity and Business Continuity tests associated with the project; Understand the service risk appetite and associated RPO/RTO for ATNS’s critical services; Support each Service Continuity Testing team in producing a set of improvement measures (as required) following each Service Continuity Test; Track all improvement measures resulting from Service Continuity Testing and report to management; Develop and/or review the TI DR Plan and in DR test preparation, execution and report distribution; Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of recovery plans and update as required; Ensure that DR plans for the delivered services in scope are complete, consistent and up to date; Ensure that DR Plans meet the required standards and quality level; Ensure that DR tests for customer-specific services are executed and test reports documented; Maintain DR plans and associated documentation in the relevant repository; Initiate necessary tests and assist in the execution and documentation thereof; Contribute to DR capability and process enhancements.
Disaster Recovery (DR) and Execution - Design, coordinate and execute BCP/DR annual test exercises for critical business processes, and produce test reports including lessons learned. Coordinate follow up on lessons as required; Develop and maintain recovery procedures for systems/applications; Develop recovery priorities and timelines for proper sequence of recovery components; Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of disaster recovery plans; Educate and train DR members in technology disaster recovery planning; Review existing and proposed plans for recoverability effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement; Provide guidance to management in assessing their control environment; Support crisis management / incident management teams during service disruption events and contribute to process improvement initiatives; Coordinate disaster recovery drills, testing scenarios, and post-mortem reviews to ensure effectiveness and readiness; Maintain a failure scenario document describing the possible failure scenarios/events to be included in the response plans as part of the BCP/DRP; Responsible for identifying technology business continuity risks, potential impact, likelihood and identifying the mitigation for these risks; Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, including ISO 22301, GDPR, etc. Stay current on trends and emerging technologies in business continuity and disaster recovery.
Stakeholder Relations Management - Develop and maintain sound relationships with key stakeholders including service providers to support ongoing alignment and collaboration; Monitor SLAs with relevant departments to ensure business requirements are achieved and expectations managed; Manage and provide regular reports on SLA compliance and identify areas of inefficiency.
Financial Management - Track expenditure in line with business needs and priorities, and within set financial parameters; Ensure efficient utilisation of the approved budget; Manage the costs involved while maintaining quality of service; Compile and provide required reports on utilisation of the budget; Identify and prevent irregular and fruitless and wasteful expenditure; Provide the required supporting documents to enable effective auditing process.
Minimum requirements
Minimum Formal Qualifications:
• B.Sc./B.Eng. in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics) or B-Degree in Computer Science/ Computer Studies/ Information Technology or related field
• ECSA Professional Registration as an Engineer will be an advantage
• ISACA Professional Registration will be an advantage
Minimum Years of Experience:
• Minimum 3 years of experience in technology disaster recovery and business continuity is required within an operations service delivery environment
• Experience in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans and processes
• Experience in providing technical support in the disaster recovery process as well as the management of audits
