Job description

  •  Ensure alignment with ATNS’ corporate identity and brand values by researching and understanding the company’s stakeholders and market base. Understand and abide by the company’s branding guidelines.
  •   Produce professional and visually appealing design solutions that accurately portray the company’s brand values and corporate identity to support effective marketing and promotion of ATNS internally and externally.
  •   Design work for multiple print and digital projects ensuring work is of a high standard and properly aligned with branding and marketing services standards.
  •   Interpret text and design briefs into a wide range of materials, including (but not limited to) marketing materials, promotional material for events, web pages, presentations and newsletters.
  •   Manage design projects across various print and digital channels to ensure consistency in application and drive brand recognition.
  •   Engage with relevant stakeholders to determine their requirements and ensure mutual understanding of the design work required. Provide design medium advice and guidance and gather and document full design briefs.
  •  Plan, research, design, and develop a range of promotional and educational materials, and utilise various approved media channels to visually represent promotional concepts.
  •   Conceptualise, plan, design and produce print, online and multimedia outputs for projects in line with the company’s brand values and corporate identity.
  •   Create innovative, high-quality designs from text and design briefs to support ATNS’ products and service offerings.
  •  Utilise both freehand and graphic design software on all currently available platforms in the marketplace, as well as social media such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Yammer, (Twitter), and Instagram.
  •  Manage the product design process from concept definition to end-product delivery, on time and within agreed budget and standard.
  •  Design solutions for the Transnet Academy marketing and communications requirements. Create and develop design concepts and solutions for campaigns, collateral and communications materials.
  •  Develop illustrations, logos, and other visual designs such as videos creations and present design concepts to stakeholders within agreed timeframes for review and feedback.
  •  Stay up to date with industry developments and technical tools, as well as design and relevant technological trends.
  •  Research and review professional publications to ensure the delivery of professional designs and service excellence.
  •  Build a sound and productive working relationship with Corporate Affairs & Communications and ensure the concepts and ideas are appropriately considered and reflected as necessary in design outputs.
  •   Engage with stakeholders to prepare and present final layouts and design outputs for final approval.
  • Build and maintain positive and collaborative working relationships with all relevant stakeholders.
  •    Provide digital and print design expertise for marketing and communications materials

Minimum requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  •    National Diploma in Graphic Design is required. 
  •   A Bdegree will be an advantage.

Minimum Experience

  •  Minimum 5 years’ applicable experience as a professional designer with demonstrated graphic design and typesetting skills in a corporate environment .
  • Experience in web design graphics, photo-editing software and content management systems is required.
  •   Understanding of marketing concepts and design principles
  •   Proficiency with Adobe’s suite of products, including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
  •   Effective communication and time management skills

Knowledge required

  •   Strong conceptual skills, high-level sense of creative design, layout and typography, a broad thinker   who is able to offer a variety of design solutions.
  •   In-depth knowledge of the latest multimedia design, specialised software and tools
  •   Strong digital media skills.
  •   Working knowledge of print and digital industries.
  •  Ability to apply style guides creatively while upholding ATNS’ brand identity.
  •   Project management.
  •  Sound knowledge of MS Office.
