To collect, verify, validate, collate, and disseminate aeronautical information in support of Air Traffic Management as well as manage the Regional Aeronautical Fixed Telecommunications Network for the SADC Region.
Job description

·       Receive, validate, correct (if necessary) and process flight plan information

·       Correcting flight plan information, is captured on to ANAIS or IAT system

·       Processing of daily standard flight plans.

·       Flight details are entered onto the applicable reference sheets and reference numbers given to clients

·       Receipt, validation, correction and processing of flight plan related ATS messages for example, delays, departures, changes and cancellation of flights

·       Receipt verification and processing of information pertaining to the cancellation of search and rescue

·       Assisting in search and rescue operations through obtaining requested information and providing supplementary information.

·       Provision of specialist advice and information pertaining to flight planning and flight operations in accordance with SARPS as well as operator knowledge and situational awareness

·       Monitoring IAT (Intelligent AFTN Terminal) supervisor position message queues.

·       Managing all ATS (Air Traffic Services) messages for the Aeronautical Fixed Telecommunications Network hub by correcting, forwarding or requesting incorrect messages

·       Reception and transmission of all ATS message for the SAAF

·       Evaluating and insert AIRAC and AIP amendments into the IAIP

·       Evaluating and insert/correct IAIP data into ANAIS system

·       Checking the applicable NOTAM summary for operationally significant information changes and hand amendments to the IAIP

·       Hand-amend the applicable IAIP as per NOTAM summary

·       Comparing ANAIS database and IAIP amendments and report differences to Information Integrity section for action

·       Performing audit on checklist of current pages to the IAIP after every AIP amendment is inserted

·       Requesting missing information from appropriate authority

·       Reporting errors in the published RSA IAIP information to AIS head office for action after verification of correct information with applicable authority

·       Researching, compiling and distributing aeronautical information based on client and/or internal requirements

·       Receiving and verifying written NOTAM requests

·       Evaluating request against SARPS and decide on appropriate course of action

·       Allocating applicable NOTAM series and encode the NOTAM information

·       Distributing issued RSA NOTAM via predetermined collective addresses

·       Processing of requests for missing RSA and foreign NOTAM

·       Performing monthly quality and standards audit on the RSA NOTAM information contained in the NOTAM summary

·       Preparing and distributing monthly RSA plain language NOTAM summary

·       Compiling monthly RSA NOTAM checklists per series for distribution nationally and internationally

·       Maintaining positional records

·       Receiving and evaluating foreign NOTAM messages

·       Analysing foreign NOTAM, SNOWTAM and ASHTAM content and format

·       Correcting format and non-conformances in received foreign messages and populate database

·       Issuing of NOTAM, Aerodrome and FIR memorandum

·       Managing and maintaining the foreign NOTAM, ASHTAM and SNOWTAM databases as per monthly checklists.

·       Configuring and maintaining the database numbering groups

·        Receiving and evaluating client requests for regular pre-flight information bulletins (PIB)

·        Populating and maintaining the automatic activation function of ANAIS for PIB as per client specifications

·       Receiving and actioning ad-hoc requests for PIB

·          Evaluating all A2M (AERMAC Management and Monitoring position) channels, and identifying all unserviceability’s. Investigate reasons for unserviceability’s and commence corrective action.

·        Arranging alternate traffic handling for unserviceable links.

·        Evaluating A2m alarms and AFTN Queues on a continuous basis to identify unserviceability and take action to handle each alarm and situation to maintain optimum availability of the AFTN network.

·        Compilation and management of Routing Tables in accordance with the AFI Routing Plan.

·        Testing and monitoring of AFTN (Aeronautical Fixed Telecommunication Network) links

·        Reporting faults to and liaising with the relevant service providers to regain operational status

·        Control, access and follow-up all AFTN and department faults on MMS (Maintenance Management System.)

·       Capturing of daily and monthly centre and regional statistics.

·       Creating, updating and distributing of collective addresses

·       Distribution of daily Pre-Flight Information Bulletins

·       Investigate; action and report missing ATS messages.

·       Administer file2fly user access

Minimum requirements

Applicants must have have the below:

·       Grade 12 with Pure Math and English pass

·       AT/AIM core content course

·       AIS Advanced or equivalent course (added advantage)

·       Minimum 2 years of ATS Experience.
