Introduction
Applications are invited for the position of Senior Internal Auditor (Grade 7) based at Bruma. The successful applicants will be reporting to the Chief Audit Executive.
Job description
- Development of the three-year rolling internal audit plan;
- Manage the execution of the approved internal audit plan;
- Plan, execute, and monitor the execution of the internal audit projects per defined methodologies.
- Draft audit notifications and engagement letters for management’s attention.
- Management of the project team and co-sourced internal audit service providers, including performance on project, timeliness, and quality of delivered audit projects. All IA project phases.
- Manage overall data analytics audit and advisory engagements to ensure the timely delivery of the highest quality work, exception reports, trend analyses, and value-added recommendations.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the company data landscape, strategies, overarching risk universe, processes/controls, and pertinent regulations.
- Support the audit team by developing appropriate data analytics audit programs aligned with each engagement's requirements.
- Oversee and execute all required data analytics test procedures and results by developing scripts, identifying exceptions, generating insights, and analysing trends supporting the audit plan.
- Report on and communicate data analytics results to intended stakeholders.
- Document draft opinions on audit and advisory findings, including ratings and recommendations, and discuss with control owners and management.
- Submit draft opinions and audit reports to CAE for review.
- Participate in, and sometimes lead, teams, and projects to effectively deliver on strategic goals.
- Remain up to date with the latest Big Data developments, leading practices, and new regulatory pronouncements.
- Execute the operational plan and engagement letters,
- Review audit team risk-based audit programs;
- Execute complex and sensitive audits and or ad-hocrequests;
- Review Working Papers and ensure adhere to defined methodologies and standards;
- Supervise and review the work of other auditors throughout the audit life cycle.
- Keep CAE informed of audit progress and ensure key issues are elevated;
- Prepare draft reports addressing findings, root cause, effect, and recommendations;
- Present findings to management with recommendations and obtain management comments;
- Prepare monthly progress reports to CAE
- Track unresolved findings and follow up with management and ensure timeous resolution;
- May be required to prepare an executive summary and or present it to EXCO and Audit and Risk Committee
- Render Audit Services that comply with IIA quality requirements
- Maintain a Quality Assurance Programme for internal audit
- Maintain a professional relationship with management whilst maintaining independence
- Provide input into the Internal Audit Strategy and delivery thereof.
- Assist in the general functioning of the department, including productivity, budget control, QMS etc.
- Participate in, and sometimes lead, team, and divisional projects to effectively deliver on strategic goals.
- Remain up to date with the latest Big Data developments, leading practices, and new regulatory pronouncements.
Minimum requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
- Audit Command Language Certification (Advanced).
- SQL Server Management Studio, Power BI, and other data tools (advantage)
- Python or R (basic) (Advantage)
- Robotics (Advantage)
- CISA, CFE (advantage)
Minimum Experience
- 5-7 Years’ experience in internal auditing, three years in a data analytics role.
