Applications are invited for the position of Configuration Specialist in the IT Department based at BRUMA. The successful applicant will be reporting to the Manager: Applications.
Overview
ATNS is seeking a candidate to take up the role of Configuration Specialist to configure business
requirements within software packages/business applications.
Job description
Major Activities
Ø Keep Business systems current with technology by performing regular system upgrades in line with
Ø the vendor’s technology upgrade roadmap.
Ø Implement successful business systems integration according to defined Application strategies.
Ø Conduct and report on Capacity planning for Business systems
Ø Conduct daily systems health-checks and proactively mitigate system performance issues.
Ø Provide advice on efficient use of Business Systems to end-users.
Ø Assist in managing supplier contracts and ensure that the IT supplier register is up to date.
Ø Provide Support on all Business systems.
Ø Correctly diagnose, resolve, document and escalate Business system incidents.
Ø Maintain and or obtain certifications on various Business Systems in operation.
Ø Responsible for meeting SLA’s with IT Users regarding Business Systems
Ø Responsible for following up on services to be provided by IT service Providers against agreed SLAs
Ø Model and test the impact of changes to determine possible impact and to plan for proactive
Ø modification.
Ø Monitor and report on IT business systems performance metrics as defined in the IT strategy
Ø Receive and process request for Business Systems access.
Ø Ensure that changes made to Business Systems are signed off by users.
Ø Deploy software to integration platforms, user acceptance and test environment (UAT) and production environment in accordance with the software development lifecycle
Ø Troubleshoot and resolve application defects/bugs
Ø Develop and build system packages in preparation for deployment to various environments (UAT
Ø and Production)
Ø Monitoring and Management of application Systems usage
Ø Assist in ensuring a high-level hardware and software systems integrity.
Ø Ensure the backup of Business systems databases
Ø Conduct regular IT DRP exercises on various business systems
Ø Conduct monitoring, minor maintenance as well as preventative and predictive maintenance,
Ø troubleshooting and process improvement on Business systems.
Ø Monitor the database availability, integrity and security.
ØMonitor and report on IT business systems performance metrics as defined in the IT strategy
Ø Monitor the database availability, integrity and security.
Ø Maintain integrity and governance of the databases and the information contained therein.
Ø Ensure that changes made to Business Systems are signed off by users.
Ø Conduct administration of Systems in line with good governance and auditor recommendations.
Ø Develop user training manuals.
Ø Train users on the new system(s).
Ø Comply with the Change and Configuration Management process by completing change requests and submitting them for approval before deploying any software to UAT and Production environments.
Ø Update the digital media library with new system changes that have been implemented and ensure software versions and release numbers are accurate.
Ø Comply with the published IT department’s systems/product release schedules.

Minimum requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Ø Certification in systems configuration/software package
Ø Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science
Minimum Experience
Ø Minimum 2 years in configuration experience
Desirable additional education, work experience and Personal Qualities
Ø Experience and knowledge of the system development life cycle (SDLC)
Ø Experience, knowledge and understand of business systems and software packages
Ø Ability to work with end-users
