ATNS is responsible for air traffic control in approximately 10% of the worlds airspace. Over and above traditional air traffic control, we also provide aeronautical information for planning purposes, search and rescue coordination services, the maintenance of a reliable navigation infrastructure, training services, and many more. Applications are invited for the position of Quality Assurance and Accreditation Officer (Peromnes 9) based at the Aviation Training Academy (ATA). The successful applicant will be reporting to the Manager: Education quality assurance

  

Major Activities

• Ensure that annual proficiency checks on all ATA full time and Guest instructors are done as per the Procedure.
• Quality check the newly designed and developed ATA learning programmes to ensure that they satisfy the requirements of relevant legislation and the Council for Higher Education (CHE) accreditation criteria.
• Collect course feedback reports from Client Relations and analyze them to ensure continuous improvement, and come up with recommendations address the gaps identified
• Conduct class inspection visits in line with ATA Quality Management System and ICAO Manual on the Approval of Training Organisation to improve the standard of teaching and learning at the ATA
• Monitor the administration of examination and assessment to ensure that all exam processes are adhered to as per AT005 and the relevant regulations.
• Check the training manuals to ensure that they are current and address the training needs of the client
• Design and develop quality assurance tools for the approval of newly and updated courses as per Procedure
• Research new initiatives in particular new quality assurance tools and equipment’s
• Observe ATA customer service initiatives and make suggestions for improvements to minimize issues in the delivery of teaching and learning
• Educate ATA staff and the business about the importance and benefits of Quality Management Systems.
• Conduct QMS Internal Audits as per ATA Internal Audit Plan, and ATNS QMS Internal Audit Plan for the Financial year and also Record corrective actions to resolve non-compliance to ATA policies and procedures
• Take responsibility for all documentation relating to quality assurance and enhancement and monitoring & evaluation, and ensure they are maintained in an orderly and accessible system for the purposes of periodic reporting, internal and external audits, programme and institutional review, accreditation events and other quality assurance events
•  Administer the registration of ATA Instructors as Assessors and Moderators
• Facilitate the initial and renewal of SACAA rating certificates for ATA Instructors.
• Facilitate the internal and external moderation of students’ portfolios with relevant SETAs to enable the certification of students.
• Organise internal workshops for ATA Staff relating to external accreditation requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in education
• Computer literacy [ e.g. Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook]

 

Minimum Experience

• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in quality assurance in education and training
